There are huge differences in synthetic and natural vitamin E. 

The common, synthetic version of vitamin E is actually created from petrochemicals and most of us know that petrochemicals are harmful to our skin . Synthetic E is often listed as ‘Tocopheryl Acetate’, the ‘Tocopheryl’ prefix indicates the vitamin E and the acetate indicates acetic acid.

This particular formula is favourited by many mainstream vitamin companies for its cost-effectiveness (read ‘cheap’), and ability to last longer than natural E.

Natural Vitamin E is so important in protecting skin cells and membranes from environmental damage. This protection extends to preventing damage to the skin from UV rays, pollutants and the effects of ageing. The d-alpha-tocopherol in Vitamin E also protects against tissue damage, which helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles!!!Natural vitamin E looks like a thick, gooey, maple syrup whereas synthetic E is runnier, pale yellow and quite light.
